In today’s world being able to maintain a long-distance relationship is seeming more and more necessary. With the rise of COVID, 19 people are isolating and not getting to share the same amount of interaction. So today I’m gonna talk about ways you can make a long-distance relationship fun and hopefully help it last.
1.) Get Your Communication Tuned In Different people have different ways of communicating especially long-distance. It’s no secret that there are people who find either texting, calling, or FaceTime easier. The key here is to find a communication method that works for you and your partner. Sometimes there are restrictions on which type of communication you can use but as a rule, try to discuss it and find one that works for both of you. I highly recommend FaceTime as it gives you a chance to see the other person's face and body language as well as hear their voice, which is very important to not misunderstand one another. 2.) Forgive Lapses in Communication Manners Look, I know we wanna be responded to the instant we text or call, but the reality is people are busy even the people you love. Give them some grace it’s a once in a while don’t respond on time. And if they have a consistent habit of not responding in a timely manner try to discuss it with them before you make assumptions. 3.) Don’t Fear the Freaky If you have the opportunity, and if your relationship is at that stage, don’t be afraid to get a bit kinky over the phone. This type of play encourages intimacy communication and also helps you discover more about each other so that when you do get to do it again in person you’ll already have some ideas about each other’s preferences. This is also a great time to express things you might not have gotten around to letting your partner know that you’d like to try. 4.) Be Loyal This one should seem obvious but it needs to be stated anyway. If you want to maintain a good, solid, long-distance relationship you’re going to have to commit to being loyal and so is your partner. Without the trust of loyalty, the relationship will crumble. 5.) Set Aside Time but also be Spontaneous Set aside time to talk to your significant other. A special time that is uninterrupted by the rest of life’s busyness. But also don’t be afraid to spontaneously text or call your partner for a quick chat and check-in. Spontaneous moments make life sweeter and scheduled moments make you committed. 6.) Be a Goof Doing something fun or funny send your partner a picture! Having fun at a distance helps to keep each other included in the good times of your lives. We all like to share the bad, but be sure to share the good too! I hope these six tips will help you keep that long-distance flame burning bright! Good luck out there and stay safe.

JadeI'm a woman who sees the world a bit differently. I've studied relationships, both through those around me, my own experiences & through traditional education on how human psychology affects our interpersonal connections for over ten years. This is my story, my advice, and my not so humble opinions. Categories
